Ballyburren is home to Ireland’s only purpose-built scenic alpaca trekking trail, where guests can enjoy guided alpaca treks through woodland, farmland and wetlands, finishing at the island coffee trailer overlooking the water.

In 2025, Ballyburren launched its adult-only, design-led luxury lodges, offering a premium nature retreat experience. Designed in-house and the first of their kind in Ireland, each lodge provides complete privacy, outdoor hot tubs and panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.

These striking A-frame wooden lodges feature a private decking area with a wood-burning hot tub and outdoor seating. Inside, the spacious open-plan interior includes a cosy living area with a log-burning stove, a fully equipped kitchen and dining space for two. The mezzanine-level bedroom offers beautiful views front and back, while the stylish bathroom features modern finishes and thoughtful touches throughout.

With superfast WiFi, a luxury breakfast box and firewood provided, the lodges offer peaceful adults-only retreats just 25 minutes from Belfast, 35 minutes from Belfast International Airport and 15 minutes from the Mourne Mountains.
