About

The Grand Opera House Trust proudly presents the blockbuster family musical Chitty Chitty Bang Bang for the first time as its Summer Youth Production. Proudly Sponsored by Aircoach.
Northern Ireland's biggest youth theatre production gives 10-to-18-year-olds the chance to star on the iconic Grand Opera House stage in a theatre experience like no other.

Produced by the Grand Opera House and supported by a professional creative team and the Theatre's technical department, the Summer Youth Production is a fully staged, costumed and choreographed musical, accompanied by a live orchestra.

The Theatre's 2026 production is based on the much-loved 1968 film and Ian Fleming's timeless children's book. Join eccentric inventor Caractacus Potts as he sets out to bring a broken-down racing car back to life with the help of his children, Jeremy and Jemima. Soon they discover that this is no ordinary car, and along with Truly Scrumptious and Grandpa Potts, they take off on a fun-fuelled, magical adventure. Unforgettable songs by the Sherman Brothers including Toot Sweets, Hushabye Mountain and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang are featured in this heartwarming classic.

Don't miss this truly scrumptious show, packed with energy, colour and vibrancy which flies onto the Theatre's stage in a production which will delight the whole family.

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is a Grand Opera House Trust Summer Youth Production. This amateur production is presented by arrangement with Music Theatre International. All authorised performance materials are also supplied by MTI (www.mtishows.co.uk).
