Paddy Breathnach began his directing career with natural history documentaries after studying philosophy at UCD. His award-winning debut 'Ailsa' was followed by the hit comedy drama 'I Went Down'. He went on to direct commercial and critical successes, including 'Blow Dry', 'Man About Dog', and the horror film 'Shrooms'. His acclaimed 2017 feature 'Viva' was Ireland's submission for the Academy Awards, and 'Rosie' earned him an IFTA for Best Director. Extensive TV work includes directing for the hit series 'Vikings', 'The Dry', and the season finale of Netflix's 'Bodkin'. He also produced the Sundance-selected documentary 'SouthPaw' and 'The Mighty Celt'.
