About
Led by Botanist Francesca, the earthy lover of trees and plant-life, this 2 hour tour incorporates essential landmarks and Graves of Friar’s Bush Cemetery and a quintessential Victorian field trip to nearby Botanical Gardens.
The ancient link between these two open green spaces will be revealed through this tour of two halves. This tour really is the best of both worlds. For those interested in botany, history, antiquity, heritage and folklore, this tour should not disappoint!
All profit from Cairde na Cille (Friends of the Churchyard) tours currently go towards the restoration of this graveyard. Cairde na Cille are the official non-profit Community Interest Company who have been painstakingly restoring this graveyard from spring 2023 as well as carrying out all maintenance of the graveyard pathways and grounds enabling tours to take place. At the time of writing Cairde na Cille receive no public funding towards their restoration work or their tours.
The ground is uneven in parts so care must be taken. It is fine for walking sticks but may be difficult for wheelchairs.
Once purchased, tickets cannot be transferred, exchanged, refunded or returned unless the tour is cancelled.
Friar's Bush Graveyard is in the process of being restored by Cairde na Cille CIC. To support this work please DONATE generously at www.cairdenacille.org
