About
The Tommy Halferty Quartet brings together four of the finest jazz musicians in Ireland today for an unforgettable summer tour across Ireland in June 2026. At its heart is Tommy Halferty, the legendary jazz guitarist, bandleader, composer and educator whose career has shaped the Irish jazz scene for over four decades. Born in Derry and based in Dublin, Tommy's guitar voice is tonally rich, brimming with bebop lines and lyrical invention, and he's shared stages with international icons from Lee Konitz to Benny Golson.
Joining him are Kevin Brady on drums, one of Ireland's most creative and in-demand jazz drummers and educators; Dave Redmond on electric & double bass, a cornerstone of contemporary Irish jazz rhythm sections, and Scott Flanigan on Fender Rhodes whose harmonically lush touch adds unique colour and groove to the Quartet's sound.
Critics have described Tommy's ensembles as "excellent musicianship… a fine lesson in the art of the jazz guitar trio" — and with the Quartet's expanded lineup for 2026, audiences can expect even bolder improvisations, refined interplay and improvisation.
