About
This reimagining of Howard Zinn's Marx in Soho seeks to uncover the local and contemporary relevance of Karl Marx's ideas. Through Zinn's sharp wit and passionate writing, we revisit Marx not as a distant historical figure but as a thinker whose critiques of power, class, and inequality still echo today, Our Karl.
In this new staging, we explore what has changed since Marx's time — and what has stubbornly remained the same. We ask: where do his theories still resonate in modern society, and where do they fall short? Set against the backdrop of our own communities new and old, this production invites audiences to engage critically with Marx's writings and teachings, reflecting on capitalism, justice, conflict and social change in the 21st century.
Blending humour, politics, and performance, this production aims to start a conversation — not about what Marx did believe, but about what we still believe.
