About
Sunday Blues is a welcoming community dance class that brings you back to the heart of what dancing is all about — musicality, self-expression and connection. Each week includes a solo blues session followed by partner blues, creating space for both individual creativity and shared movement.
Blues dance is a family of Black American vernacular dances, rooted in African American culture and danced to the rich sounds of blues music. Emerging in the 19th century and shaped in the Mississippi Delta, it reflects resilience, improvisation and joy.
Whether you're a complete beginner or already love to dance, everyone is welcome. No partner is needed — we rotate during class.
Taught by Declan and Carrie of Our Social Space, Belfast's longest-running blues teachers, the classes are donation-based and open to all.
