Two of The Bow Brothers playing the fiddle on stage

About

As part of Belfast St Patrick's Music Festival, TradFest presents a thrilling double bill at the MAC, featuring two of the most dynamic acts in Irish music today: The Bow Brothers and the Aoife Scott Band.

The Bow Brothers are a powerhouse ensemble of leading figures in Irish traditional music. At their core are Tyrone fiddle legends Cathal and Stephen Hayden, whose playing blends deep-rooted tradition with invention and fire. They are joined by an exceptional line-up: Niall Murphy (fiddle), Seamie O'Dowd (guitar and vocals), Brian McGrath (piano and banjo), and Eamonn Rooney (percussion). Together, they unleash a blaze of fiddles, driving rhythms and explosive arrangements - traditional music played at full throttle, visceral and impossible to sit still to.

Sharing the bill is the Aoife Scott Band, led by acclaimed Dublin singer-songwriter Aoife Scott, with Andy Meaney (guitar) and Cathal Ó Curraoin (bouzouki). Their music weaves expressive storytelling with rich ensemble interplay, drawing on Irish song tradition and contemporary folk.

This double bill promises an unforgettable evening of masterful musicianship, heartfelt song and high-energy traditional music at one of Belfast's premier cultural venues.
